Chow Face

Our first assignment in ZBrush was to go home and try to make something. Working in the program for the first time, I really liked the symmetry tools, while I found the user interface a big departure from what I got used to in Maya.

Inspired by my Chow Chow

Since we were focusing on organic shapes, I decided to sculpt a very familiar face.

Exaggerating the Features

I opted to really push the quirks of his expression, and the features that make Chow Chows recognizable.

Brow Furrow

I made the brow furrow more pronounced and kept the face broad with the muzzle short.

Dramatic Lighting

After I finished the sculpt in ZBrush, I exported an .obj that I brought into Maya to light and render with MentalRay.
